- Students are responsible for cleaning up any area they use. This includes discarding scrap paper
or printouts in their proper recycling or trash receptacle.
- If others are waiting to use computers, please restrict your use to academic pursuits only.
- Food and drinks are NOT permitted in the computer labs.
- The computer labs are a study and learning environment. Please be considerate of other students'
rights by being quiet.
- Do not post signs in the lab or on the lab doors without first seeking the permission of the
department responsible for the lab.
- Cell phone usage is a disruption to other students. Please turn your phone's ringer OFF before
entering the lab. If you must use your phone, please step outside to do so.
- Do not modify any hardware or software configurations.
- Do not print excessive or unnecessary pages.
- Students may listen to music on lab computers ONLY if students use personal headphones and
keep the volume at a suitable level so as not to disturb other students.
- Non-academic software is NOT to be installed on campus computers. This includes but is not
limited to: instant messaging programs (AOL Instant Messenger, MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger), file
downloading or Peer-to-Peer Sharing programs (Napster, Kazaa, IMesh), or games of any sort.
Kutztown University faculty and staff reserve the right to ask students to leave the lab for failing to adhere to these policies.
Faculty and staff may also ask students to leave a lab if a class is being held in that lab. IT staff reserves the right to close a
lab for maintenance and to ask students to leave.
