- Drive Space: Students may have up to 100 MB of drive space on the server for storage. Students may
use this space to store homework assignments, research, etc. This space is accessible from all labs on campus
with a network connection. Students can access their personal drive space at U:\. Faculty can access these
folders by going to \\stucluster.students.kutztown.edu\users\students. This space may also be accessed from off campus via ftp at
stucluster.students.kutztown.edu. When logging in, use STUDENTS\username.
- Shared Drive: On the student server cluster there is a shared drive that faculty can use to share files with
their students and other faculty. This information is by default read-only to students. Students can access the
shared drive space by going to S:\. From a lab, a faculty member can access this space by going to S:\ or from
their office by going to \\stucluster.students.kutztown.edu\shared. If you need space on this drive, please contact Rick Miller.
- Class Lists: Faculty have access to the student folders in order to be able to copy files there, retrieve files
from there, correct assignments, etc. Due to the large number of student users, navigating to each student's
folder can be cumbersome. To make this easier, class lists are created automatically via downloads from the
mainframe. Each class has its own folder. In that folder is a shortcut to each student's home folder. Faculty can
access these folders by going to \\stucluster.students.kutztown.edu\classes and then navigating to the particular class. If logged in to
a lab computer, these can be accessed by going to Y:\. Please read
this document for more detailed information regarding
this.
- Collecting and Distributing Files: Automated methods of distributing files to students and collecting files
from students have been set up. This is used to send a copy of a file or files to each student home folder and
there is also an electronic Drop Box where students can turn in assignments. The methods for doing this are run
out of the ClassList Folder (see above) and documentation and instructions are also found at that location.
Please read this document for more detailed
information regarding this.
- Printing: Faculty are permitted to print in computer labs across campus. Students are subject to print quotas, but faculty are not.
Faculty will receive a message to confirm their printouts. You may ignore the balance information contained within that message.
